I don't know, animals are smarter than you think. They know things, you know? They can tell when a person's bad. That's why dogs bark and burglars but not the owner of the house's friends.

Then I guess that leaves you stuck on a spaceship with an old man.

[Of course, Murphy isn't quite at the stage where he considers himself to be that old, even if he does feel like it sometimes.]
