[...It isn't something that Murphy feels like he can reply to right away. Not without mulling it over for awhile at first. Get over the initial "what the hell?" part and transition into the mindset that -- this is a girl that he's known since he got here. Someone who he trusted well enough to keep his secrets and not judge him for the things he's done. Now, he more or less has a better idea as to why.

[Murphy is just an outsider. He never had any connection to that town like Alex and Heather did. For that, he feels more sympathy for her than anger -- or anything else, for that matter. She was, and is, just a kid in his eyes. A victim of the same circumstances as any other.]

Heather... [He finally musters a response, much as he hates using these devices as a means to communicate. It just feels important to make one thing clear before he can go anywhere:] If anyone, ever... wants to throw you outta an airlock, they're gonna have to go through me.

[Fat lot of good that's going to do, he realizes. But at least no one can say that he wouldn't put his life on the line for it. For her. Hell if he is going to stand aside and watch any more friends get killed in front of him, when he can stop it.]

You ever need to talk, my door's always open to you. That'll never change. Alright?

[There's a long pause. His throat hitches. Finally, he manages to strangle out the words:] Also, uh...? Thanks.

[For trusting him. It isn't something he felt that he deserved for a long time.]
